At our Birbhum Unit (Dubrajpur), we began mushroom cultivation as a small experiment. In our first trial, we successfully produced 12 kg of Milky Mushrooms from 17 bags within two months, proving the viability of low-cost, small-scale production.
In October 2025, we expanded into Oyster Mushroom cultivation. Between October 2025 and February 2026, the Birbhum unit produced 300 kg of Oyster Mushrooms, demonstrating the scalability and economic potential of the model.
We have also established a Purulia Unit, extending the impact of Mushroomiyat into another rural district of West Bengal.
Dubrajpur, located in Birbhum district of West Bengal, is an agriculture-based region with strong community participation and fertile rural landscapes. The region’s climatic conditions and community-based culture make it suitable for decentralized mushroom production. Mushroomiyat leverages local resources, local labor, and local markets to build sustainable income systems.
